Getting to know a subject, and telling its story in a meaningful way
- Dr. Bob Johnson, an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Vermont Medical Center who, along with his partner Carl Etlinger, launched the most extensive ski-binding study in the world out of a trailer at Sugarbush
- Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, an inspiring non-profit whose mission is to help people with disabilities get outdoors
- Barrie Fisher, a former World Cup ski photographer whose lens during the covid lockdown turned to those who thrived during isolation–the family dog

As a freelance writer, I became familiar with pitching stories to editors. I have a wide range of interests, and love the process of researching and writing about a specific topic, whether it is architecture, local business, or food. I also love writing profiles, because it allows me to get to know a person and mine their personal histories.
Topics ranging from architecture and theater to chicken pie and music sharing. . .
